Laser Therapy at RCI Injury Treatment Center
Laser Therapy, cold laser, and red light therapy all fall under the category of photobiomodulation. This therapy is the application of red and near infra-red light over injuries to improve wound and soft tissue healing. It also reduces inflammation and can give relief for acute and chronic pain conditions.
Laser therapy is used to increase the speed, quality, and tensile strength of tissue repair, resolve inflammation and relive pain. Typically the wavelength range is between 600nm-1000nm. Here at RCI Injury Treatment Center our device uses 4 simultaneous wavelengths at 650nm, 810nm, 915nm, and 980nm.
The effects of laser therapy are photochemical meaning the light creates a cellular effect that generates chemical compounds that help cells to regenerate, increase metabolism, and reduce inflammation.
